IN WOOL WE TRUST.

Every Lof piece embodies our belief in the potential of one of the world's most remarkable natural fibres. New Zealand wool is a high-performance material for the built environment, bringing softness to hard architectural surfaces and contributing to more comfortable spaces to live, work and connect. Wool belongs in a circular design system. It grows back each year, has a long useful life and, at the end of its life, can return to the earth. By working with regenerative New Zealand wool, we draw on nature's own model of renewal to create products with a connection to the land they come from. In Aotearoa, strong wool, sometimes called coarse wool, makes up around 85% of the country's wool production. Despite its abundance, it remains undervalued and underused, traditionally destined for carpets, insulation and blankets. We see an opportunity to take this local, renewable resource in a new direction. Through design and material innovation, we're creating high-performance interior products that reveal the potential of strong wool and offer an alternative to synthetic materials.

Single-origin wool grown at Palliser Ridge.

Our wool begins at Palliser Ridge, a hill-country farm in South Wairarapa, certified under the Responsible Wool Standard and the Savory Institute's Land to Market regenerative programme. Working with a single farm source gives our wool a known origin and a direct connection to the land, the farming practices and the people behind it. Rather than blending wool from multiple farms and regions, we work with wool from one identified source, maintaining a closer relationship with the material and the people who grow it.

From farm to light. A completely local value chain.

From shearing and scouring through to carding, spinning and knitting, every stage of our wool processing takes place in New Zealand. Our commitment to local production goes beyond the wool itself. From the cardboard boxes and wool packaging that protect our products to cutting the timber for our frames and final assembly on Waiheke Island, we keep as much of the process as possible within Aotearoa. We work with specialist New Zealand processors, suppliers and makers to bring each piece to life, supporting local skills, knowledge and manufacturing along the way.
