A dramatic centrepiece in knitted form and light.
BLOEM reinterprets the classic cone pendant through the softness and structure of knitted wool. Designed for expansive dining situations that call for a focal point, the Bloem 80 fills a space with volume and light without blocking the view. Its open, flared structure creates a generous silhouette that feels both dramatic and airy. It works beautifully as a single feature over large dining tables, where its scale brings a warm, sculptural presence while gently softening sound.
The Bloem 80 is part of our BLOEM lighting family — an ongoing exploration of form shaped through making, testing, and learning directly from wool itself, within a fully local Aotearoa value chain. Named after the Dutch word for “flower,” BLOEM draws inspiration from floral forms, using an open, flowing knit to introduce movement, curvature, and spatial openness. At Ø800mm, the Bloem 80 becomes a dramatic centrepiece, anchoring large dining spaces with warmth and clarity.
At the heart of BLOEM is an exploration of New Zealand strong wool as a versatile, high-performance lighting material, using its natural properties to soften acoustics and diffuse light. Crafted from undyed Romney wool grown at Palliser Ridge Farm in the Wairarapa, each piece carries a quiet connection to Aotearoa’s rural landscape, bringing warmth and texture to architectural spaces.
Made from 100% certified regenerative New Zealand strong wool, BLOEM reflects a commitment to circular design, natural materials, and local craftsmanship. Designed and assembled by hand on Waiheke Island, and made in Aotearoa New Zealand.
